MIKE POSNER - I TOOK A PILL IN IBIZA (SEEB REMIX)

Thanks to this song I'm introduced to Simen Eriksrud and Espen Berg, or better known as Seeb. Originating from Norway, this duo has made a few remixes like Kiesza's "Cut Me Loose" and Shawn Mendes' "Stitches", before exploding to the international music sphere with this track.

The previous two remixes has established SeeB's individual style of building up to addictive hooks by playing around with voice tweaks and keeping everything else simple. Addictive hooks is usually the big goal for a song to be memorable enough and SeeB seems to be doing an amazing job at it.

On the other hand, shout out to Mike Posner too for creating this song. Behind the clubbing beats, "I Took A Pill in Ibiza" is actually a sad song. He shot to fame in 2010 with "Cooler Than Me" but things cooled after that. Nevertheless, this song became his comeback to mainstream and gave me an opportunity to rediscover his songwriting talents. Meantime when he wasn't under the spotlight, Mike Posner was keeping himself busy and wrote songs for artists, including Maroon 5's hit "Sugar".

On a personal note, the song initially captivated me with its addictive hooks but later on it was the lyrics that made me love this song more. Mike Posner is a fucking genius songwriter and I'm so glad this song gave him more attention that he deserves. Hopefully it can bring him back to higher heights.

Also I have to say, SeeB's songs seems to be a perfect Bollywood song. It works better than "Lean On" seriously. I always can't help myself dancing to those Bollywood dance moves for some odd reason. Maybe a Bollywood collaboration one day SeeB?
